You will also be asked to read out this opening speech:

‘Thank you all for coming along to this year’s Gala.  I hope you have a wonderful day.  I am pleased to declare the 2018 Gala open.’

The selection evening will take place at Oughtibridge Chapel, Church Street - date to be confirmed.  You will not be judged on the content of what you say; these activities are simply to allow our panel to see if you can speak clearly and confidently in public. The panel will be four people who are ‘independent’, i.e. who have no personal connection with any of the applicants.  Every girl that can do this will have their name put in to a hat and the Princess and attendants will then be drawn at random.   After the draw has taken place a photograph of the Gala Princess and her attendants will be taken for the Gala Day programme.

Please complete the online application form, or print and return a paper form to Jo Brook, Sandra Walton or any a committee member by 15th March 2018.

Thank you.
