  • Your photograph being taken and used for Gala Publicity;
  • Providing an outfit suitable for a princess for Gala Day;
  • You leading the Gala parade through Oughtibridge into Coronation Park.

On the selection evening we would like you to stand up and answer one of these 3 questions:

  • What attraction do you head to first on Gala Day?
  • What is your favourite Gala memory?
  • What part of the Gala Princess role would you look forward to most?

You will also be asked to read out this opening speech:

‘Thank you all for coming along to this year’s Gala.  I hope you have a wonderful day.  I am pleased to declare the 2018 Gala open.’

The selection evening will take place at Oughtibridge Chapel, Church Street on Sunday 25th March at 4pm, it should only take around half an hour.  You will not be judged on the content of what you say; these activities are simply to allow our panel to see if you can speak clearly and confidently in public. The panel will be people who are ‘independent’, i.e. who have no personal connection with any of the applicants.  Every girl that can do this will have their name put in to a hat and the Princess and attendants will then be drawn at random.   After the draw has taken place a photograph of the Gala Princess and her attendants will be taken for the Gala Day programme.

Please complete the online application form below by 15th March 2018, or download and return this letter and form to a committee member.

Thank you.
